Urs Rohner is an international banker, businessman and currently founding partner of Vega Cyber Associates Ltd and owner of U.Rohner & Co Ltd.

He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse Group AG from April 2011 to April 2021 where he also chaired the Governance & Nominations Committee and the Credit Suisse Research Institute. Previously, he was full-time Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, to which he was appointed in 2009. From 2004 to 2009, Urs Rohner served in the functions of Bank Chief Operating Officer and Group General Counsel on the Executive Board of Credit Suisse.

Urs Rohner is a member of the Board of Directors of GlaxoSmithKline plc and he belonged to the boards of various Swiss and international business associations. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of International Finance (IIF), the Board of the Institut International d’Etudes Bancaires (IIEB), the European Banking Group (EBG) and of the European Financial Services Round Table (EFR) and acted as Vice-Chairman and member of the Committee of the Swiss Bankers Association.

He is a member of the board of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) Foundation and Lucerne Festival, as well as the Advisory Board of the University of Zurich Department of Economics.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Urs Rohner served as Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG in Germany. Before, he was a partner of the Swiss law firm Lenz & Staehelin and attorney of Sullivan & Cromwell. Urs Rohner graduated in law from the University of Zurich and is admitted to the bar in Zurich and the State of New York.
