Investcorp, a leading provider and manager of alternative investment products, hosted a group of next generation leaders from Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates at its office in Bahrain on November 3rd for a seminar on finance and investments. This initiative comes as part of Investcorp’s on-going commitment to further develop human capital in the Gulf by providing a platform to foster knowledge sharing and promote understanding of critical issues influencing the world.

The programme, which was developed by Harsh Shethia, Managing Director at Investcorp for Oman, focused on alternative investments and how to construct a diversified portfolio with the objective of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns. Senior professionals and industry experts from United States and Europe participated in the Seminar.

During the event, Investcorp Co-CEO Mohammed Al-Shroogi highlighted the importance of investment diversification, saying, “In the current economic climate, it is critical that investors diversify their holdings – geographically and by asset class – in order to achieve attractive and stable returns. Investcorp has 34 years of experience in alternative investments and we are pleased to be able to share our knowledge with the next generation of leaders in the GCC. We are committed to working closely with the most prominent families in the region to help support the growth of their businesses and the wider economy.”

Harsh Shethia, Managing Director at Investcorp for Oman, said, “Since its inception, Investcorp has acted as a bridge between Gulf investors and alternative investment opportunities in the West. This Seminar was an opportunity for us to discuss that changing alternative investment landscape as well bring together a group of future Gulf leaders, creating an environment for them to network with their peers and strengthen relationships.”

This seminar follows the “Investcorp Leadership Program”, which was held in March at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. The Program saw 32 young Arab professionals from across the GCC attend a three-day academic and practitioner led executive program.
