Investcorp holds International Advisory Board meeting in London

Investcorp, a leading global provider and manager of alternative investment products, gathered last week its International Advisory Board after the recent appointments to the Board. The meeting was held in Investcorp offices in London, UK.

In his opening remarks, Mohammed Alardhi, Executive Chairman of Investcorp, gave an update on the strong performance Investcorp has delivered over the past 12 months, and the significant progress it has achieved on the delivery of its growth strategy. He said: “This past year was a pivotal and successful year for Investcorp. Our full year results for 2017 showed the tremendous progress we made in the execution of our growth strategy. We are building a more global Investcorp, increasingly diversified and capable of delivering consistent and stable returns over the long term. We have already made great strides to serve this objective, from expanding our offerings, and growing our Real Estate business both geographically and in terms of new products, to launching our first dedicated health care fund in the region.”

The meeting featured presentations from a number of the Board members, including Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman, Munich Security Conference, who gave an update on the current state of European politics. The Board also heard from Dr Mohamed El-Erian, former CEO and Co-Chief Investment Officer of PIMCO, on his views about the global economy and the current investment trends, while Deepak Parekh, Chairman of India’s premier housing finance company HDFC Ltd, spoke about the investment landscape in India.

Investcorp’s International Advisory Board is chaired by Mohammed Alardhi, Executive Chairman of Investcorp.  It meets annually and provides advice and guidance to the Firm.  It consists of Kofi Annan, President of the Global Humanitarian Forum and former Secretary-General of the United Nations; Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel, President of the Foreign Policy and United Nations Association of Austria, and former Federal Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs of Austria; Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, former German Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman, Munich Security Conference; Global Head of Government Relations and Public Policy for Allianz; Pierre Keller, former Managing Partner of Lombard Odier & Cie; Ana Palacio, former Foreign Minister of Spain and Senior Vice President of International Affairs and Marketing, AREVA; Deepak Parekh, Chairman of India’s premier housing finance company HDFC Ltd; Dr Mohamed El-Erian, former CEO and Co-Chief Investment Officer of PIMCO; and Dr Otto Schily, former German Interior Minister and a member of the German Bundestag where he serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
