Shun Tanahashi joined Investcorp in 2024 and is responsible for supporting the institutional investor market in Japan. Shun has nearly 30 years of industry experience. He leads the dialogue with the firm’s partners in the region and works across the entire spectrum of Investcorp’s investment strategies, including Private Equity, Real Estate, Strategic Capital, Infrastructure, and Credit.

Prior to joining Investcorp, Shun was at Partners Group for more than 7 years, where he was heading the team responsible for growing the business in Japan. Before that, he was the founding CEO of Ark Alternative Advisors (now Ark Totan), a Partner at Ant Capital Partners, and held roles at Goldman Sachs and Mitsubishi UFJ Trust.

Additionally, Shun was a member of the expert group of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) in 2005 and has been contributing to ESG and sustainability initiatives for many years. He currently serves as an advisory board member for UNPRI and as a member of the ESG committee of the Japan Private Equity Association.

Shun holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA from the University of Tokyo.
