Fred Guster is the Head of Strategy and a GP Development Partner in Investcorp’s Strategic Capital Group (SCG), based in New York. Based in New York, Fred is a member of the SCG investment committee. Prior to the establishment of SCG, he was responsible for seeding and advising new alternative asset management firms and their founders, sourcing and evaluating special investment opportunities, and assessing organic and inorganic growth opportunities for Investcorp.

Before joining Investcorp, Fred was the Head of Strategy & Business Development at Sarissa Capital Management, a then newly formed healthcare focused investment firm utilizing activism to develop shareholder value. He was a Director in the Capital Solutions group at Barclays focusing on strategic capital formation for start-up investment firms, and a Managing Director on the investment team at Rock Maple Funds while also developing a separate firm. Fred began his career at Goldman Sachs in London as an investment banker focusing on M&A and corporate finance transactions in their Financial Institutions Group, before moving to Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York focusing on evaluating and investing with alternative asset managers as a member of the AIMS investment team.

Fred holds a B.S. in Finance from Penn State University and an M.S. in Financial Economics from the Norwegian School of Management.
