Dan McCollum most recently served as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Hirtle Callaghan, a leading OCIO managing over $19 billion in assets. In his role, he led the firm’s active manager selection across various sectors, including public equity, private equity, hedge funds, credit, and special opportunities. Additionally, he was a senior member of Hirtle Callaghan’s Investment Committee, which is responsible for the firm’s asset allocation strategies and the selection of investment managers for client portfolios.

Before joining Hirtle Callaghan, Dan was one of two Managing Directors in Brown University’s Investment Office, where he co-managed the university’s $6.9 billion endowment. He also served as the Portfolio Manager for Brown’s direct investing program, overseeing co-investments. Prior to his role at Brown, he was a portfolio manager for a family office that invested globally in equity and debt securities. Dan began his career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank/Alex Brown and later worked at Bank of America, specializing in structured credit investments.

Dan is a Finance Fellow of the Aspen Institute, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a free, just, and equitable society.

He holds a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
