Hazem Ben-Gacem is Investcorp’ s Co-Chief Executive Officer with nearly 30 years of experience in successfully leading private equity investments across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Today, he oversees the firm’s global investment activities in the infrastructure and technology sectors, all private equity activities in Europe, Middle East and Asia, as well as overseeing all of the firm’s activities in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, China and Japan. Finally, Hazem also leads the firm’s private wealth and institutional investor relations, globally. Amongst others, Hazem sits on the Investcorp Group’s Executive, Operating and Risk Management Committees.

Prior to his current role, Hazem led Investcorp’ s European and global technology private equity teams, based out of London. During that period, Hazem was directly involved in over 40 of Investcorp’ s private equity investments in Europe and North America. Prior to joining Investcorp in 1994, Hazem was a member of Credit Suisse First Boston’s mergers and acquisitions team in New York.

In addition to his position with Investcorp, Hazem is currently the chairman of the board of the Italian men’s luxury apparel company Corneliani, the Hong Kong based premium food retailer City Super Supermarkets and the Singaporean instant food business Viz Brands.

Hazem holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from Harvard University. He serves today on the Executive Board of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, as well as serving on the advisory boards for each on the Harvard Medical School and Oxford University, St Anthony’s College. Hazem is also the founder of the Harvard Office in Tunisia, the first formal presence for Harvard University in the Arab world.

Until 2020 and for twelve years, Hazem was a serving member of the national shooting team of Tunisia (50-meter rifle discipline), most recently achieving a bronze medal in the 2017 African Shooting Championships. On the request of the Tunisian Prime Minister, Hazem co-chaired the Tunisia 2020 International Donor Conference, held in Tunisia in 2016.
