Our determination to focus on serving the needs of such clients has led us to develop a range of alternative investment opportunities that offer different levels of risk, return and liquidity, contributing to a portfolio of offerings that cover a broad spectrum of the alternative asset classes. The GCC region is the world's fastest-growing wealth market, and we see Gulf investors continuing to increase their allocation of investable wealth to alternative investment products of the type we offer.

Investcorp's active personal relationships with more than 1,000 clients in the region ensure we are continually aware of our investors' preferences and can be guided by their wishes. This long-term relationship with clients in the Gulf - in many cases now spanning several generations - is one of our unique competitive advantages, and leverages the strong brand name we have developed over 30 years of consistent commitment and performance in the region. Many of our clients have also chosen to be shareholders of Investcorp and feel pride and involvement in, and ownership of, our success.

Since our inception in 1982, we have raised more than $25 billion from our clients. More recently, we have displayed strong fundraising momentum with $793 million raised in the first half of fiscal 2013, bringing total client assets under management to $9.1 billion. Over the past two years, we delivered more than $2.5 billion in proceeds from realizations and other distributions, reflecting the high quality of our investment portfolio and our success in supporting and managing investments through the financial crisis in order to maximize value.
